can you scan to a thumbdrive null

I do not believe this model (MFC-J497DW) has a Media Slot. Although the PDF User Manual for this model mentions scanning to a Memory Card or USB, the manual also applies to three other models. All accessible areas have a tab or pull, but there is no way to open the area designated as Media Slot Cover.

No, there is no thumb drive slot on this printer.
