“How long does it take to heat and dispense each cup of hot water? Is there a reservoir that is always hot or does it only heat each portion on demand? This seems like a great feature for my daily tea, but maybe too slow for family hot cocoas?”

Hello, take about 2-3 minutes. For a single tea or hot noodle is just perfect! cannot hold more that 1cup, if you have to make more that 3 is better the standard. BTW we loved this feature even if we did not had looking for

This is a great model and we are sure you will love it! There is a child safety mechanism for the hot water features. You turn the hot water knob counter-clockwise and push the knob to dispense the hot water. The water dispensed is at the accurate/ideal temperature for the food or beverage selected. The 4 pre-programmed temperatures include 90° for warm, 150° cocoa, 170° tea, 185° soup or a custom temperature setting with temperatures between 90° and 185°. Note: The hot and cold water tanks fill independently from each other; the hot water tank does not fill from the chilled water storage. The tank holds approximately 22 oz. of water. Up to 10 oz of hot water is dispensed at a time. The heating time can vary depending on the inlet water temperature, temperature selected, and other variables.
