Hello - we appreciate you reaching out to us regarding this model. Microwave trim is designed to provide a built-in look while also providing air flow necessary to the microwave. It is very important to install the trim as designed to ensure the Oven will function properly. We cannot recommend altering, redesigning, or modifying an appliance, part, or accessory. Our products are designed, tested, and manufactured to specific specifications. On new products, we offer a warranty based on these specifications, so any modification may void this warranty. Also, we do not recommend any change or removal of parts that may affect the performance of that product. For example, if the legs on a microwave or refrigerator were removed, it could impede the air flow under the product and result in poor performance and/or product failure.
