• Metal veneer over heat resistant plastic. I think this helps prevent the knobs from becoming too hot (as I suspect an all metal knob would). Buts that does Meehan that the knobs sacrifice some sturdiness. I have two knobs that have had that veneer scratched off from having pans bump up against them when being moved around on the cooktop.
