In my experience, the answer from Sylvia@Cafe is incorrect. I have the app on my phone connected to my cooktop. The only thing the app does is notify me when the cooktop is on. I can't change the temp or turn it off/on from the app. The app doesn't even let me know when the cooktop has been turned off. The cooktop is great, but the app is actually quite useless. (For reference, the app is on my Samsung Galaxy s22 Ultra.)
