“Why can’t this be used on a countertop under a cabinet if there is several inches of clearance?”

• It can.. Mine does not get as hot as people say and is just fine

• Hi there, thanks for reaching out. This unit can't have a wall cabinet installed above it to ensure it has ample room for the hot air it produces to dissipate. In addition, please make sure there's at least 4" of clearance on all sides for this unit wherever it's installed.
