Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi Waterline- No, a separate hot water line is not required for the KEURIG® K-CUP® BREWING SYSTEM or HOT WATER DISPENSER features. Refrigerators with the Keurig® K-Cup Brewing System have a dedicated 20 oz stainless tank that holds filtered water for heating. The hot water tank is fed directly from the water coming to the refrigerator. Keep in touch! SUE@GEA
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The same waterline that supplies the icemaker supplies water for hot water and the Keurig coffee maker. The fridge has a heating module. It also can be Wi-Fi connected and you can tell it to preheat water before you even need it
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The short answer is No - same water connection from the ice maker feeds the Kurig. The long answer: The water heater is fairly slow - you can "schedule" the warming time with the app according to GE. I suppose you can set it to pre warm at 6am if you typically get coffee at 6:15 - it does not take 15 min to heat up but it seems like it - actually it is almost 6min from a cold start to fully served - second cup if right after was only about 2 min. - of course I keep standing there and waiting for it to be ready, I don't do that with my regular Kurig - on the plus side, it does notify you via the app when its ready. It is a nice feature but not quite a well executed as it could be. Be sure to press down on the k-cup until it gets punctured - this is not auto as in the regular Kurig. note: When setting up for the first time the system flushes the water - quite a bit - use a large pitcher and be patient you will go thru several pitcher before its done.
