Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Both. The pods are very slim plastic (that semi-collapses when processed). The pod cover is very slim aluminum (which perforates when steamed with hot water). The pods ARE recyclable after you remove the grinds (I use a pairing knife, put the grinds in flower pots and beds -- awesome plant food!). Hope that helps!?
