Hotels and motels are notorious for having insecure and unstable wi-fi networks. If you don't have a strong, secure, stable signal, I would expect the camera to function very poorly. This isn't designed to be a portable device you take on the road with you when you travel. It's for a home with a stable wi-fi or ethernet connection.

No reason it wouldn't except if the wifi signal is too weak. The downsides are pairing it with each different network you are at each time you stay there and the fact that those networks are not secured. Could you use it - yes. Would I recommend it -no.
