Yes. I think the cartridge is the same size and just filled in different amounts for standard or XL.

Yes. The XL versions have the same dimensions as the other cartridges. Note that in black, the CLI-280 PGBK is wider. The machine won't let you seat it. Also putting the wrong color cartridge results in a blank slot showing in that slot.
