Does this printer print well on photo paper? null

This printer does not print picture .I just tried it and its very blurry with lines in it.

I tried it on classic gloss and the ink smeared so badly you couldn’t tell it was supposed to be a photograph. After that, so printed several pages of regular paper and those picked up the smeared ink that apparently got all over the inside of my machine. I expect it will clear up with repeated printing jobs eventually - I hope. I’ll never put photo paper in it again.

I have had no trouble printing on photo paper. The results are not all that much better than on regular paper, but it works perfectly and doesn't at all smear as one other respondent reported. You can feed quite heavy paper through the manual tray at the front of the printer, but photo paper has also worked fine in the regular tray.

I have had this printer for a few years now and have learned that you HAVE to have Canon brand toner in order for the printer to print properly.

Yes, this printer is amazing. Large ink cartridges do cost more than normal sized ones. The picture quality is amazing. I picked this up on sale and haven't regretted anything.

For me, it didn't. It smeared horribly. But maybe it was the type of photo paper I was using?

I don't understand how some people were able to get good pictures or even smeared pictures on photographic paper. I couldn't even get the printer to pick up the photographic paper from the tray. It only picks up regular paper; anything a little thicker makes it jam and fail. Everything works well on regular paper. Maybe there is a trick I haven't figured out yet...

Will a Canon MF242dw do pictures

All types of paper work well in this printer. You can actually go into the App and choose the type and size of paper you would like to use. It also has multiple drawers to use for different types and sizes of paper.
