Yes, this lens will fit the 77D. I personally own the 77D and this lens and they will work with each other. Canon currently has three popular mounts, the EF, the EFS and the M series. The 77D will work with both the EF and the EFS series.

However I can speak about the professional quality photos with this lens. This lens provides excellent zoomed photos. My wife used it during football games and got professional quality photos using this zoom lens. She was extremely happy with the results.
