A:AnswerCanon EF lenses are designed to work with full frame and APS-C DSLRs from Canon. Canon EF-S lenses have a smaller image circle that is only big enough to cover the smaller sensor found on Canon APS-C cameras.
A:AnswerYes, you can take a picture of the moon -- however if you do shoot in RAW, you have the capability of editing some of the noise out as you zoom in really close to the moon. This lens is bad with zooming into subjects pretty close, and it creates a really bad quality image.
If you shoot in manual, the settings I would recommend is 0"4-5" and aperture at f/7 and leave your ISO at 1600. I get some decent results, but with a little bit of editing, it all works out in the end.
A:AnswerIt is my understanding all Canon lenses are compatible/interchangeable with all Canon cameras. My daughter has an older Canon and her lenses work on her new one.
A:AnswerMost Canon lenses fit most Canon boxes. If the list does not include the Canon 30D, then it is no compatible. Better to check with Canon USA to get a better answer.
