• Yes, and yes. Although of you want to use professional grade mics you will need a min preamp designed for use with cameras (or a cable to convert a regular pre amp).

• The Canon Directional Microphone DM-E1 runs about $250.00. You can shoot a movie with this camera, but check the 500+ page manual for limits on resolution and length.
