    Best All-Around Camera...Period

    Posted .

There has been much said on this camera and on this series. I will add my brief thoughts: To begin with this camera is sharp. Don't believe all of the critics out there. It is not as CRISP as some cameras but it is quite sharp. Lenses make a lot of differences, so whatever you do, do not skimp on your lens. If you don't this camera will take advantage of what you attach to it and deliver fantastic results. My first outing was in Colorado on a nature hike/shoot. I was shooting with the standard lens that came with this bundle (24-135mm USM) and I found it to be more than capable of capturing exactly what I wanted in a walkabout lens. It was clean and easy to use. For the first few days I kept it in automatic and got fantastic picture and video results. Within a few days I was ready to go manual and again this camera did not disappoint. I did a little research online and found some great videos and suggestions on setup which made it quick and easy for me to get along with manual mode even though I am merely an enthusiast. Again the pictures turned out great and sharp. My next step was to take pictures at a wedding. Again I am no pro, but my results made me feel confident in my abilities and I credit great advice online and a great camera with the 80D. Even though the reception was much lower light, and I loathed the idea of using the built in flash, I got some great results. My latest venture was to shoot the super moon and again with some great advice, and this fantastic camera, I got results that I could never get from a point and shoot or a phone. For professionals, you already know what you want and will buy it. For enthusiasts or even beginners this can be a great step in the direction of professional photography. I opted this over the Sony A6300, even though the video is not 4K. The video performance is fantastic for my usage and I am planning on making a Sony purchase (the A6500) in the next month. But this camera is really spot on for daily usage all around. I had to lower the resolution of the attached photos to be able to upload them.

Canon EOS 80D - High Quality, Many Features

When I opened the box to lift out my camera, I saw it was solid and included sturdy accessories. The 67 mm lens will provide excellent night photos and the sensor cleaning keeps pictures clear. The high resolution 6000 by 4000 pixels (about double the area of my current cellphone camera) plus the RAW format provides endless options. Wi-Fi helps with the transfer of pictures to my smartphone, printer or web photo processing service and more. I love the remote control from my phone. I will test the Wi-Fi range. I had 11 years of use / 20,000 pictures from my previous Canon (Rebel XT), so it made sense to me to find an equivalent Canon or more professional model.

    Best and Great Camera

I’ve never thought that I would love to own one but having to buy this camera is the best thing I have ever done. We enjoyed it so much. We don’t have to retake taking pictures of the same poses because it takes the best quality pictures and videos. Great quality and I love all the features that comes with it. We first used this camera last Christmas 2017 and have used it again right after Christmas to our family vacations to Sea World and Disneyland. I am very very pleased for all the videos and pictures we took, no fail and no more frustrations but a plain great time with the family capturing the best moments of our vacations. I am very thankful of the good gentleman who was helping me and educating me on which is which to pick for a camera. He helped me a lot and got my decision fixed to get this one. He is a good employee he made his customer very happy and satisfied and this camera will be part of our good family memories for a longest time for sure.

If your a causal photographer or want that epic shot this is the camera for you. Great for YouTube videos and dog photos at the park and surprisingly takes great portraits with the kit lens. Only had the camera for a couple days but the upgrade from the 70d was well worth it

    Great upgrade from Rebel

I was torn between the 70 D and the 80D and let me tell you I do not regret it. This camera is phenomenal. I have noticed some down points such as speed. Make sure you get higher end SD cards or else your camera is going to be busy more often than not.

Amazing camera if you know what to do with it

I upgraded from my Canon t4i that I had been shooting on for 6 years, and this was honestly the best purchase I could have made. I do both photography and videography somewhat professionally. This is the best Canon camera you can buy in terms of versatility. It is the only Canon camera that is good for both video and photo work. However, do not buy this camera if you are not familiar with camera settings or if you're not looking to educate yourself on camera settings (aperture, ISO, shutter speeds, etc.) This camera is NOT worth the money if you're not going to take full advantage of its settings. You might as well buy a point and shoot camera or take photos on your iPhone if that's the case.

    Great next step up camera

I narrowed down my choices to this 80d or a Nikon 7500. While reviews said the Nikon was slightly better for pics I am not a professional. Picture taking is my hobby. I had a canon t 3? While I still get good pics with that this camera is way better. I got it right before a trip to the beach and had no problems taking great action pics of surfers and wild ponies. I was able to get great shots of the kids and of sunrises. Pics came out great and didn't even need to edit. If you love taking pics and want better pics then I recommend this camera. If you are going to be taking a lot of pics but don't need all the extras you can get a t6 for a lot cheaper and takes great pics too.

    Great overall DSLR

The Canon 80D fills a good spot between the Canon consumer models in the Rebel line, and the "pro" models such as the full frame 5DM4. It has a very nice AF system, good build quality, and a lot of customization possible. I upgraded from a 7D. While I stepping down a bit in the frames per second (from 8 to 7) the 80D's better AF system and ISO range are worthwhile. The touchscreen is something I can take or leave, but I have been using it. I am also attending the monthly BB camera experience store workshops, and the most recent session was on video, and the 80D is much easier to use video wise than my earlier DSLRs. BB matched the price on Amazon, during one of the Amazon's short "sales" that they had.

    Satisfied but no 4K video

    Posted .

I've been wanting to get a DSLR camera for quite sometime but didn't know what to get and not to spend so much money. While the Canon 80D is not a Full Frame camera, it suites the need for someone like me who have not used a DSLR camera before and have been away from photography for a very long time. Although I bought it on sale, it's still expensive. However, I like the advanced features compared to the Rebels for beginnners. I didn't want to pay less for a beginner camera kit then only later have a desire for a more advanced camera while not jumping into professional classifications. This camere is in between for a hobbyist like me. The pictures I took look amazing. I can transfer the photos through wifi into my Mac or iPhone. The camera came with a 18-135mm F3.5 IS USM lens which is good enough. The kilt also offered a 70-250mm F4 IS STM telephoto zoom lens. I am returning this one because I feel it lacks closer close-ups while in the maximum leghts photos, they're a bit grainy. It can shoot a Full HD video, which I haven't tried yet. With a camera like this and the money spent, I wished it came with the 4K video because the technology is already there. Over all, I'm still satisfied with the camera and can easily spend more money for additional and better lenses, filters, hoods, external flash, remote switches, extra memories, extra batteries, camera bag, photo editing software, etc.

This is my second Conon camera, the first one I have is EOS 50D, and now I purchased EOS 80D. These cameras have absolute quality. If you are looking to by a pro-quality photo and video camera. I would very recommend considering Canon EOS 80D. It comes with one of the best lenses in its class. A load of options and more. When you buy Canon, its like you buy a luxury of photo and video cameras.

Very happy with the camera. Not a professional but the quality of the photos is awesome for what I use the camera for. The battery life is great as are most dslr camera which is one of the reason I did not choose the Sony 6500.

For the price you can’t beat this. It’s got a fast burst rate of 6.5fps, lighter compared to the other dslr, and has a vari angle display that comes in handy. It’s comparable to the 6d Mark II in terms of specs but more affordable
