I have taken several sunset photos with this camera and have been very pleased with the results.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It has a great low light performance. Some noise is present in higher iso shots but this can easily be corrected during post
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The 80D is a pretty fair low light camera with a max 25,600 ISO. However, you would like to stick to a slower speed of maybe 8,000 ISO max to avoid too much ISO noise. The shutter will handle up to a 30 second exposure that will allow a slower ISO. Also, it will depend on what type of lens you have, but a tripod is always recommended. That question is less about what the camera can do (it can do it quite easily) and more about the photographer's techniques and skill. Special care should always be exercised when shooting into the sun. You can damage, or even ruin, the lens and camera, and even your eyesight. Fortunately, there are several good photography sites on the internet with helpful tips on specific low light shooting. Good luck
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The low light capabilities are awesome. If anything it is too sensitive. My first week I took it out on a foggy night just to play. I could vaguely see a few trees about 30 ft ahead of me, but the photos looked as if I has taken them during a cloudy day! Learn this camera and you will get some great shots no matter the outdoor lighting.
