Any Mark II can be updated. The original M6 I will not get the upgrade, I believe.

But be aware of a few things: first of all it does not add frames per second, it adds the capability of shooting in 24p, which is less frames per second, instead of only 30p (29.9fps) (you will be able to choose which from the video menu). The greatest majority of people complaining about the lack of 24 frame per second have no need for it and don't even understand what is for. That frame rate (which Codec is copyrighted and Canon has to pay extra to have it on their cameras) gives a more cinematic look to the video and that's not what most people want. In order to have a smooth slow motion one needs as many frames per second as possible that's why many people shoot action with 60p, the movement is a lot more fluid. Shooting 24p for YouTube doesn't even make any sense, but people complained so much about the lack of it that Canon ended up doing it.
