No - It is not made in the u.s. It is designed in Japan. Manufactured in various international locales.

Japanese products are high quality products like CANON, NIKON, SONY, PENTAX, OLYMPUS, VIVITAR, FUJI, PANASONIC and so on and on. yes, they are covered by the canon warranties for it is the law. i advise you to get your CANONS on authorized dealership which you can always check on the web, avoid getting your products through third party store or gray market they dont cover warranty or worst the product is fake.

Canon manufactures everything in Japan which has always provided reliable cameras. There are repair centers in the states which will cover your stuff if they are within warranty and require repair/replacement.
