“First time camera buyer here I was recommended the R6 but when I was looking into it also saw the R6 Mark ii. Is there that much of a difference? Should I stick to what I was recommended or no?”

I recommend getting the R6 mark II over the R6. The new processor helps significantly in low light situations. The battery last a lot longer in the mark II and the auto tracking/ eye detection is great. For the slight price difference (if there is any) you won’t regret getting the mark II version
