Prior to my purchasing this camera, I used a point and shoot 7.1 megapixel which "got the job done", but wouldn't provide superior quality pictures. The Canon T6 blew me away! It was like night and day comparing the two. If you want postcard/textbook quality photos and videos at a remarkable price (Best Buy camera package is unbeatable), then this camera is your boy! Wish I would have had it when my sons were growing up.
