• Based on the product description, the kit along with free downloadable software allows you to use your Canon Rebel camera as a webcam. The camera will have a better picture than most webcams or laptop cameras.

• From checking the link , it looks like you can upload your photos directly from your camera to the web. This has nothing to do with the Photo frame.

• I never had a starter kit. I would guess it has a SD card to load your photos onto, because that is the only way the frame displays your photos.
