What is used for a viewfinder? The Clip? If so, how? null

you look through the open hole where the clip is located...sort-of clever...easy to do

It's meant to be a point and shoot kind of deal where a viewfinder isn't the objective but if you want to use a viewfinder, you can look through the device's hole which is used as a clip. How you ask? Literally look through it. It's not a traditional viewfinder so don't expect accuracy.

I used the clip but it takes a little trial and error to know how the pics are going to turn out.

Yes, the square end with the clip is supposed to give you an idea of what will be in frame, similar to instant photo cameras

Yes, the clip part is your view finder.

What you see inside that "window" in the box shaped clip is what you are about to capture/record

The other answers are all correct, but they fail to point out something useful to know. The viewfinder "screen" will never be washed out by sunlight!

The area within the clip is the "viewfinder". Frame your subject within the open area.
