• No, it does not scan legal sized paper. Letter size is the largest size it scans. Yes, it scans in color. It can also be used to make color copies.

• You can scan in color. I'm not sure about its ability to scan in 8.5x14. check the platen size. I would be surprised if it were more than 9x12.
