No, you will not have the low-on-ink problem, because this printer has "Supertank" capacity. I also had an Epson that constantly needed a cartridge change. Mine had five color cartridges, plus black, at $15.00 per cartridge. I tried cheap, off-brand carts, but they never worked well. This printer is very inexpensive, and works very well. However, ANY inkjet printer should be used about once a week so that the ink does not dry out in the print heads. Just print one picture that has shades of red, yellow, and blue. The next time your Epson runs low on ink in several cartridges, replace it with this printer, EVEN THOUGH the Epson is still working. In fact, purchase this printer ahead of time to keep it on hand for when that happens. The money you save on cartridges will more than make up for the cost of this printer.
