“I am looking for a simple to operate printer that can print with black ink only even if it contains color cartridges. this is for personal use only and I never use color, therefore one that works separately without having to purchase color cartridges.”

This printer might work for black ink only, but i think there are other models out there that are designed specifically for black and white that may be cheaper.
