My guess would be "no" as it has no internal memory and cannot support a memory card. However--if there's a storage device (like a USB-memory stick) that uses a USB-B plug/port, then maybe you could do 'stand-alone' scanning. Now, if it were connected (wirelessly) to a LAN, perhaps it could scan to another device (which likely must be powered ON) but that seems outside your criteria of not requiring any other devices.
