Ink cartridges are relatively inexpensive and there are extra-large versions (designated with an XL) for heavy photo printing. Furthermore, there are individual cartridges for each color, as opposed to a single three-color cartridge (a single three-color cartridge has to be replaced if just one of the colors runs out, costing the user more money to replace color ink). Color reproduction is pretty good and the printing is relatively quick.

You will get the best quality images but at extremely high cost! for slightly reduced quality you can buy aftermarket cartridges for about a buck a piece. Im sure it will print beautify photos either way. good luck.
