The Pixma Pro-100 is strictly a printer. It doesn't scan. It will do any printing task you want. The ink is expensive, so if you have a printer with lower operating costs, you would do best to route routine jobs to the cheaper printer. I send large, black and white documents to a laser printer.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.NO-i it's a dedicated photo printer only., scanner would be a separate piece of hardware. . The Canon is a very good printer, and if you scan much, you can buy a separate, better quality scanner to compliment the printer. I have an older Epson V500 scanner - glad for it too. No compromise in printer or scanner this way.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It does not scan, I'm sure you could use it as a regular printer but with 8 ink cartridges ranging from $16-$25 ea. I don't think it would be cost effective to use it that way unless you had some documents that you needed printed in high quality. But I wouldn't use it for everyday printing.
