cant beat with rebate
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this printer due to canons rebate. It is a very nice professional grade printer. I print with the Epson to check colors then print large format with this to get stunning pics. Use light room off your phone or iPad this will not disappointing and the inks arent too expensive but know it will use lots of ink and you must print something weekly at least a test print color wheel or favorite photos so the heads do not dry. This printer prints out all our large student flying photos at US Paragliding

Best Canon Printer
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this printer because I am a visual artist and I wanted to print out my own artwork. Also, I am upgrading from the canon pitman pro 100, which I really didn't like at all. I really enjoy my new pixma pro 200. This is way better than the previous version.

GREAT photo printer for pro-sumer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is NOT a pro level printer, despite the model "PRO-100". Don't get me wrong, it is REALLY good. But I would put it somewhere between professional and consumer (thus the name "pro-sumer"). I love being able to print out A3+ photos from landscape to portrait. I could sell my prints for sure, but if I was selling as a professional, there are other models out there with more cartridges (10-12 cart vs 8 on the PRO-100) and quality (like the PRO-10 and the PRO-1000) IMHO. But at this price point, it is a great photo printer to get you into that line. This printer is HEAVY, but the box is well made and instructions are super easy. You will be printing 13x19 prints in minutes (depending on how fast your internet connection is ;-). It prints fast and does a great job printing edge to edge. I don't know yet, how long the cartridges will last, but I have printed out 8 edge to edge 13" by 19" photo prints plus several 8x10 and 5x7's and the ink levels on 3 are in the ~60's% and all the others at ~80-95%). The printer design is simple, yet elegant (I think). Truth be told this is my first Canon (long time HP printer owner). I've never had a printer of this caliber before so take my review at that. Although the printer seems to have good power management and sleep modes. I keep this printer unplugged until I go to use it. I ONLY use it to do photo printing (mostly 13x19, but some 8x10 and 5x7).

Q: QuestionHow many of these reviews did Canon pay to have written? I can tell you I own a Canon printer and they are the worst! Canon purposely designs their ink cartridges so that they dry up even if they are not in use, forcing you to have to replace them.
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer They didn't pay me a penny. I did get the printer on a great sale though ($379) and I haven't had it long enough yet to see how cartridge consumption goes. One thing I do though is unplug the printer when not in use. It's been a couple of months, and I haven't noticed the ink levels going down after being unplugged for a month here or a couple weeks there. The print quality is right in line with a pro-sumer level printer at this level. I'm curious as to what other 13"x19" printer you would say is better at this price range? When I was researching there isn't much choice. It seems to go from this $400-$450 range to $700 and then over $1k. I'm pretty confident that I would be hard pressed to do better than $379. But only time will tell. So far, so good though. Oh yeh, if you figure out a way to get a printer company to pay me for a review, please sent them my way, I could use some extra $$$ or free stuff, LOL

Q: QuestionDoes the Pixma Pro 100 do scanning and regular inkjet printing, as well as photo printing??
Asked by Elizabeth.
- A:Answer The Pixma Pro-100 is strictly a printer. It doesn't scan. It will do any printing task you want. The ink is expensive, so if you have a printer with lower operating costs, you would do best to route routine jobs to the cheaper printer. I send large, black and white documents to a laser printer.

Q: QuestionHi there, i'm looking on google for the "best photo printer" and the one they're saying is the pixma pro-100S this one is not the S, correct? I just want to print pics from my phone, it's a samsung galaxy 6. Walgreens color machine is always yellow!
Asked by Discoqueen713.
- A:Answer The difference between the 100 and the 100S is that the 100S has WiFi direct, which means you can print directly from your smartphone with the Canon app without the phone and the printer needing to be on the same existing wireless network. If you are only going to print from your phone, the 100S is a better purchase for you for convenience reasons. I do not think there is any difference in quality between the models, but I do not have first-hand experience with the 100S.
