“Does the Canon PIXMA TR4520 printer stop printing altogether at the immediate point that it senses one of the colors in the color ink cartridge is low? Can I still print in black and white if the color cartridge is showing as low for just one color?”

Yes. I have had this for almost 2 years with no issue. I am low on color ink as we speak and it still prints black and white. I have been completely out of color and it still printed. That was a make or break feature for me, world not have bought if if wouldnt.
