A:Answer I have not tried to, but you might be able to. BUT, CAUTION, using the printer when other ink tanks are empty, CAN DAMAGE your printer head unit that the ink tanks are placed into. When the ink tanks run completely dry (this is why the sensor warns of low ink), it will burn/damage the print head. I just replaced an older model Canon printer that stopped printing. Error code said to contact Canon support. On line forums showed that print head was bad. Replacing the print head cost almost as much as new printer.Replacing print head may not have solved the issue.(I did remove print head and cleaned with printer cleaner, no luck) I would be extremely and not run the ink tanks dry.
