“What ink does this (TS8820) take? I ask because I just dropped over $200 on a complete set for a different PIXMA, now extinct according to Canon, and I can't see throwing it away.”

Just spoke to Canon because I am needing a new printer and they were not honest enough to say that getting ink for this printer would be nearly impossible. You might be able to find non-Canon ink cartridges at Amazon, but there are no customer reviews for those products. The ink for this printer is the CLI-230 and CLI-231. Best of luck.
