I am pretty sure the black and white refers to the color of the outer casing of the printer. You can print in JUST black and white even tho it is good doing color
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The printer is a color printer (like almost every printer now days). The black and white refers to the printer body - most of it is black plastic (like almost every printer now days), but the cover over the scanner is white.

The printer hood looks white/silver and the printer body is black. But the printer prints in both color and b/w. It has color cartridges and black ink cartridges.
