“understanding this camera's wi-fi capabilities Pardon my ignorance... will this camera allow posting pictures directly on one's FaceBook page in locations where you can find a wi-fi internet connection? Or does "wi-fi" on this camera mean only that you can use the camera's wi-fi to download picture files to a smartphone or computer..... and then you must use that second device to upload to the internet (FaceBook, etc.)? Thank You.”

To my knowledge, you would have to download the picture file to a smartphone or computer and then upload them to Facebook. In my experience though, you did not actually need WiFi to send the photos to a smartphone once you have linked the two together through the Canon Camera Connect app... You just had to bluetooth connect the two devices to one another. Hope that helps!
