No idea, it's never happened to me and I've owned 6 of these Canon PowerShots. Sometimes there's a little thingy on the sandisc that you can slide up or down. If you accidentally push it, you "close" the sandisc and lock it. Look at your memory card and see if you accidentally pushed that little metal thingy.
