The charger will work fine in Ireland--where I am headed for 5 weeks. Just get the all in one plug adapter(they use 3 prong) and it will work in any country. You don't need a transformer. The various power plugs for devices are made to work in the different electrical systems. Just look at the info on any devices plug and you will see that they can operate on 100-240 volts.
