A:AnswerHello! You'll have to use paper specifically made for the Canon Selphy printer. Other papers will not work for this printer, and the paper and ink come bundled together. Hopefully this helps!
A:AnswerNo, it doesn't dry out. I have gone months in between printing & it printed just as well as it did on Day 1. Most cartridges can print 108 4"x6" photos. If you print smaller photos, you can get so many more!
A:AnswerThe software that comes with the printer when you set it up has different image sizes and styles of layout. It offers one print that looks like an ‘index’ sheet, (same size paper). You could cut the smaller size photos out of the print out. The stock and replacement size is 4” x 6”. I printed out at least 8 photos with the intro paper and ink. I took photos with my phone at an event and laid the photos out of people doing activities. The photos were stellar quality, and lots of people remarked how good they turned out. I’m glad I went with the printer instead of a Polaroid style camera.
A:AnswerYes. This printer will work for post cards and Christmas cards. As for the type of paper, you wil want to get photo paper by Canon Selphy RP-108 paper set. Comes with photo paper and ink.
A:AnswerI can not speak on printing directly from the camera, but it should work with all cameras that use an SD card.
How I use it:
Take picture of people with camera.
Pop SD card out of camera.
Put SD card in appropriate printer slot.
Print from SD card on printer.
After print, return SD card to camera.
I've had no issues with using this printer directly from SD, but you have more control transferring the pictures to the Selphy app first. Hope this helps!
A:AnswerI returned my cp1200 because I'm a member of GEEK squad
and wanted them to set it up for me since instructions too complicated. I pay a lot of money each year but am getting nothing in return. They said I needed to buy one of the cheaper brands.
A:AnswerThis does NOT have ink cartridges. Instead this has a Dye sublimation process that uses a cartridge with a roll inside with different colors. (Cyan, Yellow, Magenta, & Transparent sheets). Unlike regular ink printers, this printer passes the paper 4 times which applies each color on top one by one until you get a fully print image. A specific type of paper and cartridge is required for this printer to work, but the results are really good. No smudges and photos last a long time compared to traditional ink printers.
A:AnswerSize, shape, features, price, types of USB connection used are all different between the two. The older CP1300 has a strip of buttons on top of the printer, it has a movable screen allowing you to change the viewing angle, it uses a USB 2.0 Type-A connector.
