You can download the app and definitely use it on different devices, However, if you want to print from each device simultaneously, you do need to connect the printer via a 2.4ghz wifi connection. That way you can use both app or no app to print. If you use a direct connection to the printer, you'd have to go through the connection process each time you use a different device. Wifi sounds like your best option.
