Working with any RODE mics on this camera is a bit odd. The "mini advanced shoe" is a proprietary Canon hot mount, you would have to put the mic on the cold shoe near the lens. The camera can have "plug-in power" switched on to power the electret condenser modules in the Video Mic Pro just by using the 1/8" mic plug.
