Definitely will NOT overheat -- you can run this continuously if needed and it'll be fine. It has two memory slots that can automatically flow from one to the other if a card gets full so, quite literally, you *could* run it 12 hours straight. You also can put larger-capacity SD cards in. Not sure on battery, but I'd recommend getting the larger ones you can find online if you need longer battery life. With the larger ones we can film 2 hours easily. That said -- 12-hour conference... plug it in! :-)
