• one piece snaps on back of phone protects sides & edges. Cut outs making control buttons, speaker & charge accessible. Hope my answer helped. It's sturdy too.

• It is one piece that goes over the entire phone. The front does sit higher on the front so that the actual phone does not touch services when you put it face down.
