    • Best answerThe graphing calculator will be able to do more than basic algebra. In fact, I would not suggest using a calculator for algebra unless the instructor loves to use decimals and multiply large numbers. But I would get him a scientific calculator. Why? Because graphing calculators can do AL LOT MORE than simple algebraic equations. Instructors in all science and mathematics (except statistics) want their students to get scientific calculators because graphing calculators can encourage cheating. So for now get him a scientific calculator. It does everything you need...except graphing...and downloadable games.

    • AThe Casio seemed to do everything the t84 did but the teacher advised me it wouldn't be suitable as the work became harder. The teacher made me purchase the T84 so the class would all be using the same one. Also the T84 seemed easier to opererate
