    • Answer With a close focus of 6.5 feet and being waterproof by design, the Nature DX 10x42 are excellent for bird watching. Please note that binoculars with magnifications higher than about 7 are difficult to hold steady by hand and will require a monopod or lightweight tripod for image stability.

    • Answer Binoculars for travel and binoculars used for stationary nature or astronomy viewing fall under two different parameters. A travel binocular must be small and light, yet perform well, while a stationary binocular can be larger for better low light gathering and can be mounted on a tripod. For traveling, the Nature DX 10x42 is a great choice. But for photography with a cellphone, the binocular should be tripod-mounted in order to conveniently operate the camera. Thus, a binocular to tripod adapter is highly recommended along with the NexYZ three axis adjustable cellphone adapter.     • Answer Binoculars, and particularly only 8X binoculars, are too low magnification to show a planet as more than a pinpoint of light. A telescope with at least 50X minimum is needed to discern the ball of a large planet like Venus, Jupiter, and Saturn.
