For critical viewing of bullet holes at 300 to 500 yards or longer, sturdy spotting scopes with higher optical quality, aperture of at least 80mm, and longer focal lengths are recommended to handle the magnifications required to view bullet holes–especially when seeing conditions are not optimum.
