• you can try download app called wifi analyzer and connect to your wifi and go to garage and check teh range if the reading is around the yellow ranger you are good

• The hub will need to be mounted in the garage. In order to work properly, your WiFi will have to reach the garage. You should be able to test this by connecting your cell phone to your home network and going down the garage. If it holds the wifi connection, the chamberlain should work just fine.
