It should start to close but the sensors installed on your door should trigger the opener to stop no different than you other remotes. If your door doesn't stop if something is under it then it is a problem with you safety sensors and it is best to contact a local garage door repair to make the adjustments.

Use you owners manual to troubleshoot the safety inferred adapters on each side of the door at the button of your garage door opening. Hope this helps you.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This unit is meant to work together with a sensor based garage door where the existing sensor prevents the door from closing if an obstruction is present between the sensor-eye aystem. It is not meant to be used without the existing sensor system.
