Basic instructions, yes. Your best recipes are found on GOOGLE and even better buying a dehydrator recipe book from Amazon, We found many choices there and have found new tricks...

It also comes with a cookbook that has between 20 and 30 recipes. Most of them are very delicious, but the fun of cooking is experimenting! Also, there are tons of recipes online for dehydrating foods you've never even thought about (and possibly don't want to think about lol). Hope this helps.

It is easy to use and you will know when the items are done by following the instructions. I love the easy cleanup. Had no problem with anything sticking to trays.

Be sure to follow the instructions for the jerky and cook it before dehydrating or baking it afterwards to kill any bacteria that may be present.
