Just be very cautious as not to overflow the batter when making waffles because that is when it gets hard to clean. Other than that this product is amazing and definitely worth the purchase.

Therefore, you have to clean the grates with a soft brush of some type, or use a cloth or towel. Not unmanageable, but not super easy either.
