Can I use this one for short hair null

No, the curls can’t get that close due to the size of the barrel. Mine were about six inches from my head.

How short? I use it for shoulder length hair

You'd have to tilt the iron close to your scalp. It will only curl mid though. This iron works best for shoulder length and longer. In the pic i have a chin length hair and curls are almost at the bottom

My wife has shorter hair and she was not able to curl as expected with this tool. She gets much better curls with her styling wand so I am returning this to best buy.

No, it will likely only curl the tips.
