the Chipolo uses the same Apple wireless channel to communicate. Ergo, the Chipolo talks to "any" iphone within close proximity and sends the location/id signal. From there, you will be able to see the last known good location regardless of actual distance. At one point, my tag was 8000 miles across the ocean and I can still see it on the app.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. In the same way that AirTags work, the Chipolo needs to be within Bluetooth range (approx 30 feet) of anyone's iPhone (not necessarily your phone) anywhere in the world as long as that iPhone has Bluetooth turned on and has a network connection (cell and/or wifi). The "Find My" app on your iPhone will then show a map with the location of your Chipolo when it was last near a Bluetooth-activated iPhone. The only time it needs to be near your own phone is for the precision locating functionality.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Any iPhone withing 100 ft of this device will report its location. Your iPhone can be miles away IF another person with an iPhone walks by the CARD it will forward its location to your phone.
